How to get and install an eSIM

Have a stable Wi-Fi connection and keep your phone charged.

1) Request your eSIM

New or existing customers can request an eSIM or swap from a physical SIM.

We’ll send you a secure QR code and setup instructions to your email.
2) Add the eSIM to your phone
iPhone
  1. 1
Settings → Mobile Data → Add eSIM
  2. 2
Scan the QR code (or enter details manually)
  3. 3
Label your lines (e.g., Personal / Work)
  4. 4
Choose default line & data line
Android (paths vary)

How switching works
4) Keep your details handy
  • ICCID (SIM number) — shown in SIM details
  • EID (eSIM hardware ID) — sometimes needed for troubleshooting
  • Stable Wi-Fi and device passcode/FaceID
We’ll never ask for your full credit card number or passwords by email/SMS.

Switching devices

Moving to a new phone? Remove the eSIM profile from your old device and install it on the new one using your original QR or a fresh activation (some QR codes are single-use).

If you’ve erased your QR or changed devices, request an eSIM re-issue.

Using both SIMs

Most dual-SIM phones use DSDS. You can receive on both, but only one line handles mobile data at a time. Choose your default for calls/SMS and your data line in settings.

  • Set per-contact default line (iPhone)
  • Toggle lines on the fly from quick settings
  • Combine with VoLTE and Wi-Fi Calling for best quality

Travelling with eSIM

  • Keep your NZ number active; add a local eSIM for data
  • Select the local eSIM as your data line, keep calls/texts on your NZ line
  • Check roaming and international call rates before you go
  • Download eSIMs over trusted Wi-Fi to avoid activation issues

eSIM FAQs

An eSIM is a built-in, programmable SIM that lets you activate service digitally—no physical card required.

Yes. Use one physical SIM and one eSIM—or two eSIMs on some models—to run work and personal lines simultaneously. Choose which line handles calls/SMS/data.

Delete the old profile and add it on your new phone using the original QR or a re-issued activation. Some QR codes are single-use—request a new one if needed.

No separate charge—usage is billed against your mobile plan as usual. Roaming/international rates still apply when relevant.
